Moov Hotel is a modern hospitality project located in the heart of Matosinhos, Portugal. Adjacent to the existing LIDL building on Avenida da República, the hotel rises seven floors above ground with three underground levels, totaling approximately 15,900 m² of gross construction area.

The building seamlessly integrates accommodation with spaces for commerce and services, serving both guests and the local community. Bounded by Avenida da República, Rua Roberto Ivens, Rua Heróis de França, and neighboring the LIDL building, it stands as a new architectural landmark in a vibrant urban setting.

MOQ Engineering was responsible for all structural and foundation solutions. The team addressed the challenges of constructing a large-scale building within a dense urban environment, paying special attention to the design of the three underground floors due to complex geological conditions and groundwater presence.

Utilizing reinforced concrete for the superstructure, the design ensures durability and resistance to both vertical and horizontal loads, including wind and seismic forces. Various slab systems were optimized for functionality and structural efficiency.

Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology was integral throughout the project's development, enabling seamless coordination between architectural and engineering teams. This approach facilitated precise integration of all structural elements and optimized material usage.
