Francisco Conde has more roles than one can imagine. He is our hands-on BIM manager, meaning he not only oversees the entire BIM development process, but also implements and develops his own tools within the team. He is also an active member of the design team, with relevant experience in the design of Heritage Buildings in Seismic regions. Francisco holds a masters degree in Structural Engineering, combined with an amazing self-taught knowledge and interest in coding, parametric design and design automation in C# and Dynamo. During the last few years at MOQ, he has been developing several tools and add-ins, re-thinking and re-creating processes along the entire project, from concept to detailed stages. Francisco currently leads the entire BIM work within the team, developing scripts, standards and pushing the boundaries of digital design applied to the real world. Francisco is the link between outstanding engineering analysis and efficient production, allowing our team to focus on solving engineering problems instead of repetitive work. As part of the design team, he understands what needs to be automated and, as part of the development team, he knows how it should be done.

João Primavera joins MOQ with a decade of experience as a Principal Engineer. He has worked on a wide range of projects, including residential, educational and commercial buildings. Some of his work include renown hotels and museums in Europe. With a masters degree in Structural Engineering, João invests heavily in continuous development, bringing additional knowledge to the team from the academia. In 2021, he was awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Precast Concrete Structures. As one of our senior engineers, João oversees the design of structural projects, from conceptual to detailed stages, designing and delivering complex schemes to our clients. Over the last few years, João worked closely with some leading design architects and engineers in Portugal, leading challenging projects around the globe, including Portugal, Switzerland, Belgium, Dubai and even Antarctica. Apart his broad spectrum of experience in designing complex buildings in steel and reinforced concrete, João is an avid structural engineer with experience in conceptual and detailed design of buildings located in Seismic regions. João enjoys helping others solve technical problems and thrive within the team. He plays an active role in team management and leadership, leading by example.

Manuel Cardoso brings +10 years of experience in the construction industry as a Civil, Structural and Project Engineer, working closely with leading architects, contractors and clients. Manuel holds a MEng (Hons) in Structural Engineering and is up to completion of a PhD in Steel and Composite Structures, with the final dissertation currently on standby. He was part of the research team at University of Pavia, Italy, studying Risk Mitigation of seismic hazards. In 2021, he completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Project Management at Porto Business School, bringing the latest academia and industry standards related with agile and co-operative management to the team. Over the last few years, Manuel has been responsible for a variety of projects, including complex steel buildings and stadiums located in the UK, Europe and in the Middle East region. Manuel is an enthusiast about engineering problems and in particular structural analysis optimisation through creative and analytical thinking. Manuel splits his focus between office design and on-site technical coordination, ensuring MOQ projects are designed not only to the highest standards and client requirements, but also easy to assemble and build on site.

Pedro Quintas is a chartered Structural Engineer with a strong design background acquired throughout a decade of working closely with architects, contractors and clients in the UK and Europe. Pedro is passionate about structures and embraces a creative and inclusive approach when designing our built environment. For him, engineering design requires a holistic approach to solve problems, meaning every discipline and art must be part of the process so creative and innovative solutions can emerge. With a MEng (Hons) in Civil Engineering from the University of Porto and a masters in Structural Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark, Pedro invests in expanding and deepening his technical knowledge through continuous development along his career. Pedro is a chartered engineer by the Engineering Council in the UK (CEng) and a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (MICE). He is also a professional qualified engineer in Portugal by Ordem dos Engenheiros (OE). Pedro is currently preparing to become a member of the Institution of Structural Engineers (MIStructE) in 2023. During his career Pedro has been responsible for projects in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and in the UK, across a range of sectors, including industrial, commercial & residential buildings, as well as complex geotechnical schemes and temporary works during construction. As one of our senior engineers, Pedro’s creative mindset helps the team develop effective and efficient structural solutions, based on innovation and sustainability, always presenting a variety of options to our partners and clients. Pedro has a keen eye for detail, ensuring high-quality standards across project deliverables. Currently he focuses on finding carbon reductions through intelligent specification and design optimisation.
