Lake House comes to reality as an opportunity to reuse an existing vacant building in a small property near Santarém, Portugal. ARCH.EDIT’s architectural team had the challenge of remodeling the entire concept of the building, increasing and rebuilding several spaces, creating a top of the art villa in the quiet city of Tomar.

MOQ Engineering, allongside its partners, designed all Engineering solutions with a comfort-based concept, allowing for the rehabilitated structure to offer the best possible living experience. All Engineering solutions adopted a climate-responsive design, with carbon reduction has a goal, implying for minimum waste solutions and life cycle efficiency.

Building Information Modelling was vital, allowing for the optimum integration between the existant structure and the all new project elements, while facilitating real time control of the carbon footprint.
